The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
 
Methodist Women have been at the forefront of movements for change, at times supporting projects initiated by others, striving to move with the times rather than be overwhelmed by them.  As organized groups of women this has been our heritage.  As  members of United Methodist Women we share in a community of 800,000 women across the country organized for mission.  We are part of a vast network of concerned Christian women involved in ministries with women, children and youth in thousands of communities in the United States and in more than 80 countries around the world.

Bluff Park UMC has five UMW Circles.  Find which circle is right for you! 
  • Compassion Circle
    This Circle meets on the first Sunday of the month at 5:00pm in the church parlor. This Circle sponsors and organizes both Mountain Marketplace and the BPUMC Book Club. Contacts are Julia Glass (jglass@brombergs.com) and Susan Vogt(svogt@uab.edu).
     
  • Friendship Circle
    This Circle meets in the church parlor on the 4th Monday at 7 p.m. This group of ladies supports First Light, Urban Ministries and works with the Food Pantry. Contacts are Jeannie Jenkins 823-1594 and Betsy Britain 822-0192.
     
  • Grace Circle
    This Circle meets on the 4th Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Fishermen’s Classroom located across from the library in the Education Building. This Circle supports Church of the Reconciler, McCoy Adult Day Care, the Food Pantry and Babies First. Contacts are Bobbye Guyton 822-6117 and Peggy Fields 822-6090.
     
  • Hope-Love Circle
    This Circle meets on the 4th Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the church or in members’ homes. This group supports the Food Pantry, Church of the Reconciler and Babies First. Contacts are Julia Dunne 823-5986 and Sylvia Thaggard 979-2759.
     
  • Joy-Faith Circle
    This Circle meets on the 4th Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the church parlor. This group supports Pack-a-Purse, providing funds for needy families and Babies First. Contacts are Jackie Teaford 424-6615 and Win Shelby 822-3138.
